To get inspiration, I tend to 1) read and 2) reflect.
I’m sometimes called upon to give talks at church. I’m
usually given a chapter of the Bible to present to our congregation. First I read the passage and reflect on what I believe it is saying. Sometimes
I come up with ideas while I’m walking home from my office and other times when
I’m lying in bed. To retain these ideas it’s important that I note them down
when I have the opportunity to. Then I read
what other people have said about the passage. I consult various Bible
commentaries to find this out. I have ‘hard copies’ of some and others I
consult online. Next I create my slides, looking
for relevant images I can use online. When I give my talk, I talk to my
slides.
So that’s my journey to find ideas to share.
