One of the main reasons ways I genuinely think young people are committing crimes is because of their personal background if they come from a dysfunctional family they are at a high risk of getting involved in a crime. For instance, as they do not get the benefit from proper care and guidance from an affectionate atmosphere they develop behavioral disturbances. Another reason might be from action movies with murder and robbery is being popular among youth. It is clearly seen that these sorts of movies lead to an increase in crime among teenagers as they try imitating what they have seen in the movies. Furthermore, films have an important influence on young people who are influenced by what they watch and hear. Some ways to combat the problem are to have stricter punishments because they are young, courts are too lenient. Parents also have to take more responsibility for their children's actions. They too should be punished if their children commit crimes.
You mentioned many persuasive reasons. I think films one of the most important reasons and it is ignored by governments, parents and other people.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. My guess is a dysfunctional family environment has a bigger impact on the crime rate than movies featuring violence and crime. Perhaps parents should face some of the responsibility if their children commit crimes. I wonder if that would encourage parents to bring up their children more responsibly?
ReplyDeleteDavid :-)
The film industry indeed glamourizes crime.
