Many people have thought that reading in the dark affects your eyes and it's right but it won't cause lasting damage. Vision tends to weaken over time for most people, and family history and genes are a big factor in determining that. But reading in low light won't cause a decline in vision, it can lead to eye strain.

How interesting! I really believed that reading in the dark and reading texts with small print would lead to deterioration in one's eyesight. I guess I believed that straining your eyes led to their not working as well. I wonder what environmental factors can damage the eyesight? Perhaps repeated exposure to direct sunlight can? What do you think? David :-)
